Independent software studio

Two senior engineers, 45 years combined experience. Your whole stack, shipped.

TwoGigas is two senior full-stack developers. We're engineers first, building web, mobile, cloud and SaaS products and modernizing the systems you already run. We bring AI in where it earns its place, under experienced judgment.

Why TwoGigas

Small team.Deep experience.Clean handoffs.

Years of shipping real software, and the tools of today. The people you talk to are the people who write the code, set up the pipelines and answer if something breaks.

  • The people you talk to do the work

No account managers, no layers. The engineers you talk to are the ones who scope, build and ship your product. You work directly with the builders, from the first call to the final commit.

  • Clean handoffs, no lock-in

We deliver a complete solution and a full developer manual, so the next developer can pick it up without us. You own the code and can hand it to anyone. We earn the next project, we don't trap you into one. What we ship is built to be maintained.

  • Full-stack, infrastructure and DevOps, one team

Application code and the cloud it runs on are designed together: the feature, the cloud environment and the pipeline that deploys it. Automation, CI/CD and observability from the first commit, and every change goes through the same path:

    1. push
    2. test
    3. build
    4. deploy
    5. observe
  • AI where it earns its place

Not every project needs AI. We built and shipped successful products long before it became part of the toolkit, and that experience still guides our work. We use AI where it adds real value, whether in our development process or our clients' products, with experienced engineering judgment driving every decision.

Services

What we do

A wide range of software work, including but not limited to these six areas. If it involves code and servers, it is probably in scope.

  • Web development

Marketing sites, web applications and APIs: from a fast, clean landing page to a full platform with authentication, billing and admin tooling.

  • Mobile development

Mobile-first products, including installable progressive web apps when a store release isn't the right first step. Designed for the phone, not squeezed onto it.

  • Software modernization & optimization

Inherited and legacy codebases brought up to date without stopping the business: framework and language-version upgrades, refactors, performance and cost work, tests and CI/CD, migrated to modern infrastructure step by step.

  • AI solutions

AI-driven features built into your product and your workflows: assistants, automation, document and data extraction, internal tools, or AI features inside the app you already have.

  • Cloud infrastructure

Cloud architecture, environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and cost control, set up so your team can operate it, not depend on us.

  • SaaS solutions

Products built to be sold as a service: accounts and roles, subscriptions, onboarding, and the operational tooling behind them, on infrastructure that scales with your customers.

Consulting

Advice your team can act on

Sometimes you need an outside view before any new code. You get it from the engineers who build our projects, and your own team can take it from there, with or without us.

Architecture planning

About to start a new project or a rewrite? Let's plan the architecture together. We'll do the research and help you put first things first.

Already have a design? Get a second opinion before the money is spent. Better to find the weak spot on paper than in production.

Work

Selected work

Prairie House Hub

prairieHOUSE is a Manitoba energy-advisory firm: it performs EnerGuide home energy evaluations and administers Efficiency Manitoba's new-home and retrofit rebate programs. We built the system that automates the paperwork around it.

The prairieHOUSE Performance website: Manitoba's leading residential building performance experts

The challenge. Every file has to meet compliance regulations, and the work around them was largely manual. Invoicing alone took days.

How it's built. Laravel, Livewire and Vue, with Redis queues, Pusher for real-time UI updates, AWS S3 and Algolia, connected to their existing CMS, Caspio and Zoho Sign.

Outcome. A powerful employee-facing backend where invoicing that took days now takes minutes, and built-in tools handle the tasks staff used to do by hand.

Stack outline

  • Laravel + Livewire + Vue
  • Custom-trained AI + OCR
  • Redis queues
  • Pusher
  • QuickBooks Online
  • Google Maps

What it provesWe can take a paperwork-heavy operation and automate it end to end.

  • Compliance audits, automated. Custom-trained AI models and OCR check each file, spread across parallel background tasks.
  • Electronic invoicing, straight into QuickBooks Online.
  • Reports straight from the energy models. Data is extracted from energy model files and turned into reports.
  • An inbox that acts on what it reads. A custom scanner routes incoming email to the right external systems.
  • Routes and mileage, calculated. Travel routes, kilometers and travel times, worked out with Google Maps.
  • Ready for the busy season. Data analysis forecasts it, so resources can be allocated ahead of time.

PowerProde

A multiplayer football-prediction game. We designed it, built it end to end and run it in production.

The live PowerProde landing page at powerprode.com

The challenge. Scoring has to be right every time, for every group, even when a result is corrected, a match is recomputed or strategy cards rewrite predictions and points mid-tournament.

How it's built. Laravel and Livewire, grown since early 2023 across more than 750 commits, and battle-tested live through Copa América 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.

Outcome. Live at powerprode.com, with automated zero-downtime deploys, queue workers, a CDN, daily backups and monitoring.

Stack outline

  • Laravel + Livewire
  • Queues + Redis
  • Passkeys (WebAuthn)
  • 20+ languages

What it provesWe can carry a product for years: sound architecture, careful upgrades and a system that stays working as intended for years to come.

  • A scoring pipeline that can't double-count. Every finished game is scored by one ordered sweep, serialized per league; recomputing a match reproduces exactly the same state, card randomness included, and emails are never sent twice.
  • Results that arrive on their own. Final scores are cross-checked between two sports-data APIs, with an AI web search as a last resort, and applied automatically when both APIs agree (penalty shootouts still get a human check).
  • A rules engine, not a pile of ifs. Each of the 19 strategy cards is its own handler, running in one of three phases around a match, with a fixed order for resolving conflicts.
  • Kept current, never rewritten. Major framework upgrades landed on the live product.
  • Measured, not guessed. Automated tests pin down idempotency, concurrency and query counts; performance work is measured on a copy of production data, and changes that don't pay off get rolled back.

On The Road CRM

On The Road Theatre Company creates original, family-friendly theatre productions focused on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), helping children explore choices, honesty and emotions. We built their CRM.

The On The Road Theatre Company website, with the cast in costume on stage under an About us heading

The challenge. Booking theatre into schools is more than a regular CRM can handle: tight show-day timings, and thousands of school coordinators to keep informed.

How it's built. From scratch, around how a touring theatre company actually works, instead of bending a generic CRM to fit.

Outcome. One system runs the whole operation, from the office to the stage.

Stack outline

  • Custom CRM
  • Actor-facing app
  • Algolia search
  • Double opt-in mailer
  • AWS SES

What it provesWe can model a messy real-world operation and make it simple for the people on the ground.

  • Scheduling built for show days. Several shows in one day, each with carefully planned timings.
  • A frontend for the cast. Actors see exactly what they need to go from show to show without missing a beat.
  • Coordinator communications, handled. The CRM manages the back-and-forth with every school's coordinator.
  • Instant search. Algolia across the whole contact database.
  • A mailer that keeps the list clean. Addresses are cleaned up and verified with double opt-in, then mailed through AWS SES.

ObraManager

A client needed to run their construction sites from the phone, not a back-office desk. We design and build it.

ObraManager project dashboard showing 43% progress and budget versus spent for a construction site

The challenge. Their first version was a fragile single-file app: shared PINs, a world-readable database, totals that drifted and photos stored as text. It had to become a product several firms could safely share.

How it's built. Spec first: a working prototype and 16 design documents came before any code. Then Laravel and Livewire in ten milestones, each fully green before the next one. Built in a few weeks with AI agents under senior review.

Outcome. In active development; a working demo is available on request.

Stack outline

  • Laravel + Livewire
  • Installable PWA
  • Multi-tenant
  • Google / Microsoft SSO

What it provesWe can take a fragile app and turn it into a tested, multi-tenant product, fast and without cutting corners.

  • Tenant isolation that fails closed. Each firm's data is walled off at the row level, background jobs included, and a two-tenant security test matrix checks that one firm can't see another's.
  • Offline capture without duplicates. Entries logged on site with no signal wait in an on-device queue and sync on reconnect; idempotency keys make sure a retry is never saved twice.
  • Lean, recoverable infrastructure. A single tuned cloud server with atomic releases, instant rollback, nightly backups to write-protected storage and a scripted restore drill.
  • Rigor you can audit. Automated unit and browser tests, static analysis, per-screen query budgets, and security, logic, test and data-flow audits with every finding fixed.
  • Passwordless Google and Microsoft sign-in, hardened with PKCE and nonce checks, and one active session per user.

Julian Vidal

Co-founder · Senior full-stack developer

I shipped my first commercial software 26 years ago, and it's still in daily use. I lean toward backend and architecture, but I'm perfectly comfortable in the frontend world as well. I've built systems used by millions, from billing and auditing to large-scale push notifications. I like untangling legacy code as much as starting fresh. Clients know me for being thorough and reliable.

I'm a husband and a father, and my garage is slowly turning into a workshop: two lasers, a CNC router, a lathe and more woodworking tools than I'd like to admit. When I'm not making sawdust, I'm making noise. I play several instruments, the flute being my latest challenge. I also write arrangements for my wife's band, and every now and then you can catch me on stage with them behind the percussion.

Cesar Ricci

Co-founder · Senior full-stack developer

I've been building software professionally for 19 years, with PHP at the core, but I've always enjoyed getting into whatever part of a system needs figuring out. I like architecture, design, optimization and complicated problems that take patience to crack. I've worked on everything from booking and wealth management systems to data pipelines and mobile apps. I'm usually the guy you can throw a weird or difficult problem at and trust that I'll figure it out.

I live with my wife and two daughters. Outside of software, my biggest obsession is 3D printing. I print stuff almost every day, from tools and gadgets to toys for my daughters, and I'm currently designing and building mods for pinball machines. I love combining engineering with art and design. I also play a little piano when I get the chance. Two years ago I finally started playing table tennis, something I'd wanted to learn for years and have really gotten into.
